The (GI) Glycemic Index is not about dieting. It's about a better diet. It's not about counting carbohydrates (carbs), it's about choosing better carbs. I purchased every book I could find on the GI. Most of the books listed foods as being high, medium or low on the index. That simply was not enough information for me. I wanted to know, to the ounce, which was the better carb for my failing pancreas. Hence, the "Pancreas Friendly" food chart. You can see from the sample chart that I actually know why I don't often eat white rice.
